MILAN – Luiz Adriano spoke about how he is settling in at Milan and in Serie A to the Italian dailies Gazzetta dello Sport and Il Giornale. These were the Brazilian’s thoughts: “It’s thanks to Shakhtar if I am now a Milan player. I have been taken back by the nature of the matches in Italy. Up until now I have only been used to attacking, without thinking about anything else. Instead, here it is all very organised, in every area of the team. Even the smaller teams are very well organised and they play like big teams. The tactical side is an important aspect in every training session, and I had never experienced it at these kind of levels before. The UAE? With all due respect, I know that I have done well in joining Milan. I made my decision based on this club’s history and the history of Serie A. I understood that at the moment it was the best choice, and both my friend Pato and [former coach] Lucescu confirmed that to me.”

Commenting on his ambitions with the national side, the Milan no. 9 said the following: “The coach’s choices have been very clear: in the past squad lists, he has only named midfielders and no out and out strikers. By working how I am now, I can show what I can do. My objective for now is to be an important player for Milan and make history with this club, like I did at Shakhtar. The Brazilian players that played here before me are a real source of motivation. My role models are Cafu, Ronaldo and Emerson.”

On Mario Balotelli and a possible three-pronged attack with him and Carlos Bacca: “Mario is very important for us. He is a great player who has come here to give us a big hand. The team needs everyone and he will help us a lot. Together, we could form an excellent attack, because Balotelli has the qualities that can be of great use to us. There would be no problems at all playing all three together. I am enjoying playing with Bacca and with every training session that we have, our understanding improves. We also speak a lot together and this helps with the understanding. With time, we will keep improving.”
