JACK BONAVENTURA TALKS JUVE, MILAN AND ITALY

MILAN – Giacomo Bonaventura has spoken about a range of themes earlier today at Milanello.

The Italian spared a thought for the Paris victims: “There is great sadness for the events that took place in Paris. But we have to move on as of the next match by trying to entertain the fans at the stadium and try and overcome this horrible moment. We have to look forwards and play a great match.”

The Juve clash is important but not decisive says Jack: “There is still a long way to go and lots of points up for grabs. It’s not a must-win match. However, a side like ours that aims to finish in the leading positions, cannot slip-up in these type of matches. We will try and prepare as best as possible. A draw wouldn’t be a bad result, but we cannot go there to play for a draw. We need to try and play well, put in a good display and win. We can accept any result providing we give a great performance.”

More from the Italian star:
“Every match is unique. A lot depends on how you approach the match. Versus Lazio, we were all eager to do well and we were in a great condition. Perhaps versus Atalanta we didn’t give our all. Against these teams at the San Siro, we have to win. The Atalanta match will serve as a lesson to us for the future.”

Bonaventura has earned a reputation as a versatile player:
“It’s not so much a question of the position, but rather, how you set out to play. You need to understand what you have to do out on the pitch and be as useful as possible to the team. It makes no difference to me whether I am played further forwards or further back. In attack, a player is expected to be more decisive in and around the penalty area. In midfield, it’s a different task, but the coach always sends us out well organised. I am not too concerned about my position.”

More on the match with the Italian champions: “Juve have a few injuries, but we have to focus on ourselves. I don’t fear anyone in particular. I admire Buffon for his career at the highest levels with Juventus and Italy. Donnarumma? He is very talented and is so young. The future is his. It’s all down to him. Let’s allow him to work in peace. This is a club where he can grow.”

Jack has one eye on Euro 2016: “Antonio Conte will make the decision whether I go to the Euros or not. I will do everything I can to make it. But for now I am focused on Milan. I have to play well for my club until March to get another call-up and hope to arrive at the end of the season in good form so I can play my part for the national side too.”
