🇮🇹 The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) announce the return of the Italian National team to Milan for the first time in almost a year since the defeat to Spain in October 2021 in the Final Four of the Nations League. San Siro Stadium will host the Nations League meeting between Italy and England on Friday 23 September (20:45 CEST) – which will precede the away fixture in Hungary on Monday 26th.

Stats:  Italy and England have met 28 times, with the last meeting having been on 11 July 2021 at Wembley when Italy was crowned European champions.  Italy with 10 wins,  10 draws, and England 8 wins.

This will be Italy’s 60th game in Milan, where Italy actually played their very first international fixture (15 May 1910, 6-2 vs. France at the Arena Civica). Furthermore, Italy’s record in the Lombardy capital is 37 wins, 19 draws and three defeats. Milan has hosted the Azzurri on the second-most occasions, after Rome (63). Italy have, in fact, played at four venues in the city: the Arena Civica, the Sempione Velodrome, Campo Milan and the famous Stadio di San Siro.
