FROM MONTOLIVO TO LLAMAS: MILAN LEAVE THEIR MARK IN SPAIN

MILAN – An Italian national side has restored winning ways in Spain: the 1-0 victory in Ibiza by the Italy Under-17s, thanks to a penalty from Milan’s Andres Llamas Acuna (defender and captain of the Allievi Nazionali youth team, born on the 7th of May 1998) was also played out in front of Italy coach Antonio Conte who was watching on in the stands.

To find the last occasion in which Italy tasted success in Spain you have to go back to over 8 years ago, the 10th of October 2006: on that day the Italy Under-21s defeated Spain in a Euro play-off 2-1. Interestingly, there was another player currently in the Milan squad on the score-sheet that day in the form of midfielder and club captain Riccardo Montolivo.
