FIORENTINA – AC MILAN, MARCO DONADEL TO MILAN CHANNEL: “MILAN FORMED ME”

MILAN – Here is what Marco Donadel who came through the Rossoneri youth sector (Serie A debut with Milan in 2001) before becoming a major player at Fiorentina with 219 official games from 2005 to 2011 and currently at Montreal Impact, had to say to Milan Channel:

“Milan and Fiorentina have been the two biggest clubs in my career. The Milan has formed me as a man and player, I had some great teachers and it was a very important stage in my life. Milan will find a Fiorentina different from that of last season, it will be a difficult game because playing in Florence is complex. Few teams win. It will be a different team, less possession but a lot of pressure. It will be a match of the highest level, it might seem a battle at times. Both teams want to make the game, pick up the pace and put the other side under pressure.

“I have a beautiful memory of Sinisa in Florence. We immediately saw his great charisma, he conveyed it to us a lot and it is very nice when a coach also conveys his desire to want to win to the players. I knew right from the days at Florence that he would improve despite the initial criticism and then with Sampdoria he has proved his value.

“Football is very different in Canada, anything can happen against anyone. The rhythm is high and there are so many nationalities, so they find it difficult to know everyone and then it becomes difficult to prepare for this game.

“The coach at Fiorentina interests me. They did well in the summer although Serie A is different and difficult, and then the other young people who are coming through and will give a big hand to the team. Milan have strengthened their squad, I think that they make some more signings. I think the return of Montolivo, then there is Luiz Adriano and Cerci, I believe everyone will give a big hand to the team and if they follow the coach and I think that Milan will return to the heights of before.”
