FIGC: CARLO TAVECCHIO VOTED IN AS PRESIDENT

< ![CDATA[MILAN - Carlo Tavecchio is the new President of the FIGC (Italian Football Federation). The Italian and head of Italy’s Amateur League was elected at the third round of voting with 63.63% of the votes. His opponent and other candidate Demetrio Albertini collected 33.95% of the votes. This is what he had to say following the election: “I will be the President of everybody, above all those that legitimately expressed their dissent at my candidacy. I want to thank those that confirmed their faith in me and made their support felt even in the difficult moments.”Tavecchio has been the President of the Italian Amatuer League since 1999 and Vice-President of the FIGC since 2007. He takes over from former FIGC President Giancarlo Abete after a long day which came to an end with the applause of the crowd for the new President.]]>
