DIEGO LOPEZ INTERVIEW: “This shirt is too prestigious to accept this current situation.”

MILAN – Diego Lopez gave an exclusive interview in today’s edition of the Italian sports daily “La Gazzetta dello Sport”. Here are some of the comments from the Milan goalkeeper:

“I am reaping the rewards from the work done in previous seasons. I am 33, it’s an ideal age for a goalkeeper. Physically I am fine and mentally I have the maturity to deal with every difficulty. This is why I am always positive and I am waiting for better times: mentally I am very strong. The desire and the hunger to win are there, Milan will be great again. The incident at Parma? Nothing in particular, I was simply disappointed about the injury that came before the mis-clearance. A mistake doesn’t change anything for me.”

More from the Spaniard and in particular on Milan’s tough 2015: “It’s also been hard for us to understand. There are many things that aren’t working. We’re responsible, we have to do more both in training and during the match. We must always be at 100%. We need pride to react. This shirt is too prestigious to accept this current situation. Villiam Vecchi? He’s a master. He is the person that believed the most in me, along with Mourinho. He has always shown respect and affection towards me, he has supported me and helped me. There is a friendship between us.”
