DERBY DRAW

(IN THE PHOTO: both sides together after the match)MILAN – The Allievi Nazionali drew 1-1 yesterday in the derby with city rivals Inter at the Vismara Sports Centre. Milan opened the scoring through Vassallo after 5’ and the same player came close to making it 2 on 39’ but the goal was cancelled out for offside. The rossoneri youngsters seemed in control as the second half wore on, but the nerazzurri equalized through Delgado on 82’.This is what coach Omar Danesi had to say to the Milan Channel after the match:“It’s a shame about the result with the late equalizer. We did well in the first half and defended well in the second. We didn’t take many risks and attacked a lot. The match was played in the right spirit and we’re doing great work”.Following the match, the two sides both took part in a post-match meal organised by AC Milan. Players and staff from both teams were present in an event aimed at promoting fair play and the right spirit. The result may have been a draw, but sport was the winner. The head of the Milan Youth Sector Filippo Galli echoed these sentiments in an interview with the Milan Channel after:“It was a good game and it’s important to see the players socializing afterwards. These are important values to teach. We made the Youth Sector headquarters available for this and I’d like to thank Inter as well.Milanello is a unique structure in Italy and we have a bit of everything to develop the Milan Model with space for the Milan Lab as well. We’re trying to give quality to our game, performance before anything else. That’s the road we’re on.Mastour didn’t play as he has a fever. There’s no need to put pressure on him. He has quality and he’ll develop. He has a special talent. It was a great day of sport”.Please click here to see all the photos from the match and post-match events.
