COACH INZAGHI PRESS CONFERENCE: “We must continue with this spirit”

< ![CDATA[CHARLOTTE – Please read below what Milan coach Filippo Inzaghi had to say in his post-match press conference following Milan-Liverpool:"I’m sorry about the undeserved 2-0, but it was the response that I was expecting. There was a great reaction today, I’m happy with my players, I can’t remember a save made by our goalkeeper whereas we worked their goalkeeper. We had a quality half an hour in the second-half and the second goal is harsh on us. We must continue with this spirit and this desire. I can only ask my players to continue like this and then our values will come to the surface when we face sides in Italy. Perhaps we’re still a bit naïve. We conceded two goals while in possession, but I’m the one to ask the side to play from the back, we’re Milan and we can’t throw the ball away. We’ll move forwards for now but the reaction from everybody in the defensive phase pleases me. If it had ended 1-0 or 1-1 there would be no complaints. We were up to the standard and this has to be a starting point for the next matches.Balotelli can also play as a supporting striker. Niang is doing well, he has a good attitude. In Italy he will give us a big hand and I don’t think there are many players born in December 1994 as strong as him. Let’s give him time and confidence. The wide forwards gave us a great hand today. While we struggled in the previous matches, we competed today against one of the strongest sides in Europe. We’re on the up and starting to see traces of the Milan side that I would like above all in terms of determination. There’s a brilliant spirit, we must start from that. In the Italian league with that desire and determination we can do well. When the squad is complete we can go really far. This side has to shake off the fears of last year and I believe that tonight’s match has to give us lots of confidence."]]>
