CHRISTIAN ABBIATI TO THE MILAN CHANNEL: “We’ll give everything in the derby”

MILAN – Christian Abbiati spoke to the Milan Channel ahead of Sunday evening’s derby match against Inter:
“Against Roma we didn’t do well in the first half, we gave them too much space and they played well. We did better in the second half. The derby is always special. Usually it’s a match that has a bearing on the top of the table but this year is different. It’s always a standalone game though. It’s important for our league position and the team is very focused. We’re doing a lot of physical work and we’ll give our all. It’s a psychological question mainly as all the players are champions. The first derby this season was decided by a single incident which shows that these matches can be won or lost in an instant. Us members of the old guard give advice to the younger players. You have to take to the field calm and focused to play your best game. I think the team have done well in the last month and a half. We sticking together and we’ll be ready for the match.I go to bed early in the days before the match and wake up not too late. I hope I’ll be able to sleep well after the match too”.
