AC MILAN IN THE CANARIE ISLANDS FOR ADIDAS MILAN JUNIOR CAMP

Tenerife 25 March 2014, Gran Canarias 26 March 2014 – The Adidas Milan Junior Camp in the Canary islands for two weeks of football and fun in the red and black of the most decorated club in the world. The camps will take place between 29 June and 5 July in the Gran Canarias and the following week from 6 – 12 July in Tenerife. Presenting the event in two press conferences in Tenerife and Gran Canarias was Franco Baresi, legendary club captain,  as well as Alessandro Gianni from Milan Junior and Daniele Paccagnan, head of SSD Polisporteventi and the camps’ technical director. Also at the presentation was Manuel Rivero Mateos, head of local organization.Milan Junior Camps provide an opportunity for children to get involved in a positive and captivating experience, guided by professional staff, experts in their field using a methodology adapted to the children’s ages and skill levels.The camp week goes from Monday to Saturday morning and will see the children train twice a day and includes friendly matches with local sides, games and tournaments as well as other forms of entertainment. Adidas Milan Junior Camps are open to all children between the ages of 6 and 16.“The success of this project comes from the unique formula which combines sport, fun, health and offers kids the chance to participate in training sessions using official AC Milan methods” said Franco Baresi. “With almost 15 years of experience all over the world, Milan is now a world leader among professional clubs when it comes to organizing training camps for children. We’re all convinced that the kids who take part in these camps will benefit not only from a sporting point of view but that it’ll also be an experience that will stay with them for the rest of their lives. Every year, more than 15,000 kids in 172 camps in 39 different countries take part”.“The days are very intense with a lot of involving activities for the kids” said David Paccagnan, Milan Junior Camp technical coordinator and head of SSD Polisporteventi. “There’ll be two training sessions a day, giving kids a basis in the most important fundamentals of the game using the Milan Method based on developing Thinking Players for the children’s growth. There’ll also be friendly matches against local teams but the main objective is for the kids to enjoy themselves in the company of others kids, maybe from other countries and sharing the experience. All the coaches at the camps are from Milan Football Schools in Italy, which guarantees the professionalism and quality which sets the club apart in everything that it does”.

AC Milan has been organizing events of this nature in Italy and the world over for more than 15 years aimed at children and their families through the Milan Project with three main developmental aims: marketing, research and education. As well as MJC, the club also works through Milan Football schools (120 clubs with 25,000 children), Milan Park, Milan Cup, Milan School Cup, Milan Academy and Milan Lab Junior. All of these initiates involve more than 40,000 children all over the world every year.
