As reported by the Lega Serie A, the award was assigned by a jury of Directors of sports media who evaluated each coach on the basis of technical and sporting criteria and the quality of play of their teams, as well as their behaviour/fair play during matches.

For the final calculation, all matchdays of Serie A TIM 2021/2022 have been considered.

“Stefano Pioli has been the leader of AC Milan who, after 11 seasons, returned to win the Serie A TIM – said Lega Serie A CEO Luigi De Siervo -. A young and spectacular team, made of technique and enthusiasm, in which the Rossoneri coach was able to make each element grow individually and amalgamate them into a compact group. Pioli’s merits in Milan’s triumph are evident and the Coach Of The Season award is also a recognition of a man symbol of fair play and great passion for this sport”.
