A BITTER DEBUT, AC Milan Youth Team

The youth team start the season with a 2-0 loss to Udinese in 10 men.

(IN THE PHOTO: Vassallo during last season’s match with Udinese) MILAN – The Milan Primavera fell to a 2-0 defeat at home to Udinese on the opening round of the league season on Saturday.

Cristian Brocchi’s team made a bright start to the match and came close to breaking the deadlock early on when Hamadi played a great ball for Vassallo which was deflected out for a corner.

Udinese responded with a long distance effort from Magnino which was off target but on 23 minutes found the opener through Armenakas after the rossoneri defence failed to clear a ball played into the box.

Matters were complicated for Milan just before the half hour mark as Zucchetti was given his marching orders for a second yellow card.

Milan’s Crociata had two attempts in quick succession just before the half-time whistle but was unable to find an equaliser and it was the visitors that went into the break in control.

Despite being in 10 men, the rossoneri were very much in the game and it wasn’t until the 87th minute that Udinese wrapped up the win following a counter-attack which was finished off by Prtajin.
