MILAN – It was 5 May 2002 when Milan beat Lecce 3-0 at the San Siro in the league qualifying for the preliminary rounds of the following season’s Champions League.
It was in fact the first step taken towards Champions League glory in the 2002/2003 season which ended with the team lifting the trophy after an all-Italian final between Milan and Juventus.
