Peru saluting the World Cup in grand style winning the First Stage Group C game on Tuesday 26 June 2018  at the Fisht  Stadium in Sochi, Russia.   Peru winning their first game grabbing the 3 points to end in the 3rd position.   France and Denmark qualified to the Round of 16, Australia and Peru are eliminated. However, Peru gave a great joy to their fans. Peru scoring a World Cup goal in 36 years!!! Imagine, the joy not only of the players, but also the fans shouting that GOAL!. The two goals were scored by André Carrillo and Captain Paolo Guerrero.

First Stage Group C Standing After Matchday 3

France in the 1st position with 7 points and a positive goal difference of +2. Denmark in the 2nd position with 5 points and a positive goal difference of +1. Peru in the 3rd position with 3 points and a goal difference of “0”. Australia in the 4th position with 1 point and a negative goal difference of -3.

The opening goal is for Peru! In the 18th minute, André Carrillo defeating Australia goalkeeper with a right footed shot in the bottom left corner. The assist is by Captain Paolo Guerrero.

A special and emotional moment. In the 50th moment, the happiness is complete for all Peruvian fans. Paolo Guerrero, the beloved Captain, had the chance to score his goal in the World Cup. Guerrero delivering a left footed shot all the way to the bottom right corner. Party in the stands with fans in tears is a “Kodak moment.”
