👉🏆    Mission accomplished. Roma ended the UEFA Europa League Semifinal Second Leg with a draw against Bayer Leverkusen on Thursday 18 May 2023 at the Bay Arena in Leverkusen, Germany.  The Giallorossi conquer the Europa League Final with a test of suffering and defensive attention, withstanding the German pressure and conceding few chances.  Edoardo Bove’s goal in the first leg decides.  Mourinho’s boys, in their second consecutive European final, will have to wait for the conclusion of Sevilla-Juventus to find out the opponents they will face in Budapest on May 31st.

✅  Note: First Leg, UEFA Europa League Semifinal: Result AS ROMA 1 – 0 BAYER LEVERKUSEN, Thursday 11 May 2023

✅  Stats before the game: Bayer Leverkusen have not achieved any success in their last four matches against Roma in European competitions (D2 L2), having won their first match against the Giallorossi in October 2004. Roma have won two of their last 15 away games against German sides in European competitions (D1 L12) – against Nuremberg in October 1988 and against Hamburg in December 2000 – remaining without away wins in their last five (D1 L4). Bayer Leverkusen have only made it through in one of the last 11 two-legged ties in which they lost the first leg in European competitions: in the play-offs of this Europa League against Monaco. After last season’s victory in the Conference League, Roma could reach a final in European competitions for the second consecutive season with José Mourinho in charge after the Giallorossi’s last final was in the 1990/91 UEFA Cup. Roma have progressed through 23 of the last 25 European competition ties in which they won the first leg, the two exceptions being against Manchester United in 2006-07 and Porto in 2018-19.
