✅ Stats before the game. Atalanta have never lost a UEFA Cup / Europa League home game in 11 previous matches (7W, 4D), three of them against German sides: 1-0 win against Cologne in 1990, 1-1 draw against Borussia Dortmund in 2018 and a 3-2 win over Bayer Leverkusen last month.
With four wins and one draw, Atalanta have remained unbeaten in their last five games in European competitions and have not done better since February-August 2018, when they reached seven. Atalanta have made it through the round in six of their last seven European knockout matches on occasions in which they have avoided defeat in the first leg; an exception is the crossing in the quarter-finals of the 1990-91 UEFA Cup with Inter (0-0 first leg, 0-2 second leg). La Dea did not reach the semifinals of a major European competition from 1987-88 in the Cup Winners’ Cup, succeeding as a Serie B team.

I cannot believe it, Atalanta losing at the Gewiss not even scoring “an honor goal.” Not a good way to say goodbye to the @EuropaLeague. The Semifinal dream is over. So sad, extremely heartbreaking. Yet, I cannot leave the team alone on this sad day, Forza Atalanta. Next year. pic.twitter.com/CdzEAkKXjU
