👉🏆  AS Roma won the away game in the Europa League Group Stage – Group G against Sheriff Tiraspol on Thursday 21 September 2023 at the Sheriff Main Arena in Tiraspol, Moldavia.  Roma took home the three points from this trip to Moldova. AS Roma got the lead thanks to the own goal by Gaby Kiki’s from a free kick by Paredes, Cristian Tovar equalized in a corner. Romelu Lukaku’s great goal decided the prestigious away victory.

Mourinho’s Roma returns to the European stage after the bitter disappointment of the defeat in the final on penalties against Sevilla. The Giallorossi’s path in the Europa League starts from Moldova.

For Mourinho’s team now the challenge against Servette, defeated on their debut 2-0 by Slavia Prague.

The Roman gladiators ended the first half with the lead thanks to the own goal by Gaby Kiki scoring against his own goalkeeper Maksym Koval.

Sheriff Tiraspol equalized in the 57th minute. Cristian Tovar defeated AS Roma goalkeeper Mile Svilar with a right-footed shot to the high center following a corner conceded by Evan Ndicka.

Roma took the lead again in the 64th minute. Forward Romelu Lukaku defeated Sheriff Tiraspol goalkeeper Maksym Koval with a left-footed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Bryan Cristante.

Stats before the game: This will be the first official match for Sheriff Tiraspol against Roma, with Inter being the only Italian team previously faced in Europe; with the Nerazzurri defeated in both matches in the group stage of the 2021-22 UEFA Champions League. Roma have not conceded more than one goal in a European match for 12 consecutive matches (since the 2-1 home defeat against Real Betis), a period in which they have only conceded seven goals.
