Cagliari collapsed! AC Milan won the Serie A Week 6 game on Wednesday 27 September 2023 in Cagliari, Italy to climb from the relegation zone. AC Milan needed the victory to go back to the 2nd position with 15 points overtaking Juventus with 13 points. Cagliari reacted in the second half with the addition of Oristanio’s verve but in the home team’s best moment, Loftus-Cheek closed the match with a powerful and precise low shot and the Rossoneri managed until the end.

On the seventh day, Ranieri is expected to face Fiorentina as a former player while Pioli’s boys will host Lazio.

Cagliari opened the score in the 28th minute. Zito Luvumbo defeated AC Milan goalkeeper Marco Sportiello with a left footed shot to the top right corner. The assist is by Nahitan Nández.

AC Milan equalized in the 40th minute. Noah Okafor defeated Cagliari goalkeeper Boris Radunović from very close range with a left-footed shot to the bottom left corner.

Bad news for Cagliari. AC Milan overturned the result and took the lead in the 45th minute. Fikayo Tomori scored from very close range with a right footed shot to the center following a corner conceded by Boris Radunovic.

The Rossoneri got their inspiration. In the 60th minute, there it is another goal. Ruben Loftus-Cheek scored with a right footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Christian Pulisic.

✅    Stats before the game: Milan is the team against which Cagliari has lost the most games in Serie A: 45 out of 80, completing the balance with eight Sardinian victories and 27 draws. Cagliari have won only one of the last 37 matches against Milan in Serie A (8N, 28P): 2-1 at Sant’Elia on 28 May 2017. More in detail, the Rossoneri have achieved six successes in the last seven matches against Sardinians in the top flight, conceding just one goal in the period. Milan have won their last three away games against Cagliari in Serie A without conceding a goal; the Rossoneri have never achieved four consecutive away successes against the Sardinians and have never even recorded four away clean sheets in a row against the Rossoblù in the tournament. Cagliari have scored only one goal in this championship, in their history in Serie A only in 2008/09 (with Allegri on the bench) had they scored one or fewer goals in the first five matches of the season in the tournament – in the sixth in that case the Sardinians drew 0-0 against Milan. Cagliari have won only one of their last 10 Serie A home games (D3, L6): 1-0 v Sassuolo on 16 April 2022. Furthermore, the Sardinians have not scored in the first two matches at the Unipol Domus this season and they could remain without a goal in all their first three home games of the season for the first time in a Serie A tournament.

👉 Lineup CAGLIARI (4-4-2): Radunović; Zappa, Wieteska, Dossena, Hatzīdiakos; Nández, Makoumbou, Sulemana, Augello; Petagna, Luvumbo.
