Fiorentina, despite dominating, failed to win the Serie A Week 5 against Juventus on Saturday 3 September 2022 at the Artemio Franchi Stadium in Florence, Italy.  The match was decided by the goals scored in the first half by Arkadiusz Milik and Christian Kouamé.  In the second half, it is Fiorentina with the chance to win the game,  despite Luka Jovic’s missed penalty at the end of the first half.

In the next round, Juventus will play at home against Salernitana while Fiorentina will play away against Bologna.

Juventus opened the score in the 9th minute. Arkadiusz Milik defeated Fiorentina goalkeeper Pietro Terracciano from very close range to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Filip Kostic.

Fiorentina equalized for the 1-1 in the 29th minute. It is Christian Kouamé to defeat Juventus goalkeeper Mattia Perin with a right footed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Riccardo Sottil.

✅    Stats before the game:  Juventus is the team that has beaten Fiorentina several times (79) in Serie A and that has scored the most goals (268) against Viola in the top flight.  After the 2-0 win last May, in Florence, Fiorentina could win two consecutive Serie A games against Juventus for the first time since 1998: even on that occasion, both victories went to Franchi.  Juventus have not won at Fiorentina in Serie A since 1 December 2018 (3-0 by Bentancur, Chiellini and Cristiano Ronaldo); since then, Viola have slipped two draws and one win, and have not made four consecutive unbeaten matches since 1999 (2W, 2N).   Fiorentina have not scored in their last three league games, the last time they slipped four straight matches without goals in Serie A was in November 2020.  After the 0-0 draw against Napoli, Fiorentina could run out of goals for two straight games at Franchi in Serie A for the first time since May 2019 (five on that occasion).  Considering the previous 15 seasons of Serie A, only twice (four out of four in 2014/15 and three out of four in 2009/10) Juventus had collected at least three clean sheets in the first four games played in the league.  Juventus have not found the goal in the last two away games played in Serie A; the last time Juve did not score for three consecutive away games in the competition dates back to December 1998, under the technical guidance of Marcello Lippi (the last of the streak was on the Fiorentina field).

👉 Lineup Fiorentina (4-3-3): Terracciano; Dodo, Milenkovic, Igor, Biraghi; Barak, Amrabat, Maleh; Kouame, Jovic, Sottil.

👉 Lineup Juventus (4-3-3): Perin; Cuadrado, Danilo, Bremer, Alex Sandro; Locatelli, Paredes, McKennie; Di María, Milik, Kostic
