Cagliari lost the Serie A Week 35 game against Hellas Verona on Saturday 30 April 2022 at the Unipol Domus in Cagliari, Italy.  Cagliari remains at 28 with three points ahead of Salernitana and Genoa but the Campania players have two fewer games, Genoa one. Verona at 52, four points from Europe, awaiting the matches of Lazio, Fiorentina and Atalanta.  Verona beat Unipol Domus thanks to goals scored in the first half by Barak and Caprari. Joao Pedro rekindles the Rossoblu hopes by scoring from a free-kick in the 57th minute.  Cagliari lost the seventh game of the last eight plays.

In the next round Cagliari will go to Salerno to play everything for safety, Hellas Verona instead hosts AC Milan at the Bentegodi.

Cagliari have lost six of their last seven league matches, although they won their most recent home league game (1-0 against Sassuolo).

Hellas Verona opened the score in the 8th minute. Antonín Barák defeated Cagliari goalkeeper  Alessio Cragno with a left-footed shot to the center. The assist is by Giovanni Simeone.

João Pedro shortened the distance for the 1-2 in the 57th minute defeating Hellas Verona goalkeeper Lorenzo Montipò with a right-footed shot to the top right corner.

✅  Stats before the game.   Verona are unbeaten in their last six Serie A matches against Cagliari (W3 D3), and they have kept a clean sheet in each of their latest two; the Sardi’s last league win against the Gialloblù dates back to November 2017 (2-1).  Verona have won eight of their 15 league games against Cagliari in the three points for a win era (D4 L3); against no other opponent have they have earned more league wins over this period.
