A sour defeat for Sampdoria losing the Serie A Week 34 game against Udinese on Monday 8 May 2023 at the Dacia Arena in Udine, Italy. After 11 seasons in Serie A, Sampdoria is arithmetically relegated to Serie B. With this defeat, Sampdoria remained at 17 points in the 20th position, 13 points away from the salvation quota which is now no longer reachable.

The guests’ few chances came from Quagliarella, Zanoli, and above all Gabbiadini who hit the post in the second half. Sixth home win in this championship for the bianconeri.
In the next round of the championship, Udinese will be involved in the away match against Fiorentina, while Sampdoria will return to Marassi and host Empoli.
Udinese opened the score in the 9th minute. Roberto Pereyra defeated Sampdoria goalkeeper Nicola Ravaglia with a right-footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Festy Ebosele.
