👉 Atalanta failed to win the Serie A Week 34 game on Sunday 7 May 2023 at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo, Italy. Juventus conquered the second consecutive victory and takes second position in the standings, overtaking Lazio and moving to five points ahead of fifth-placed AC Milan. It is a painful defeat for Atalanta, who remain at 58 points in the company of AS Roma and see Inter fourth, now five points away.
It all happened in the second half at the Gewiss Stadium, when Juventus found the two goals that decided the game. In the first half, the bianconeri had a good chance for Di Maria, who kicked from a good position, while Atalanta went close to taking the lead first with Scalvini’s header from the post on a corner and then with Pasalic’s first turn from ‘inside the area that ends high. In the second half, Allegri’s team unlocks the game in the 56th minute with Iling-Junior, who recovers the ball and offers it to Rabiot. The Frenchman crosses low in the middle for Milik who is anticipated by Maehle. The ball, however, ends up in the area of Iling-Junior, who does not miss the tap-in from close range. La Dea reacts with Koopmeiners’ free kick saved by Szczesny, while anything goes in the final. Sportiello keeps Atalanta alive by saving on Vlahovic and on the reversal in front Zappacosta hits the post with a shot from outside. In the added time, Doveri interrupts the game for discriminatory chants by the Bergamo fans against Vlahovic, who ends the game in the 98th minute by finishing off a counterattack led by Chiesa in a big way.
Juventus opened the score in the 56th minute. Samuel Iling-Junior defeated Atalanta goalkeeper from very close range with a left-footed shot to the high center.
