Spezia and Sassuolo having same points ended the Serie A Week 3 game with a draw on Saturday 27 August 2022 at the Alberto Picco Stadium in Spezia, Italy. Davide Frattesi breaks the balance in the 27th minute, Bastoni responds in the 30th minute, Nzola converted a penalty. In the second half Pinamonti signs the final 2-2. Ekdal sent off in the 81st minute after 2 yellow cards. Spezia has not drawn a Serie A home game since 19 December 2021: since then for the Ligurians four home wins and seven defeats.

In the next round, Spezia will play the away game against Juventus, Sassuolo will play at home against Milan.

Sassuolo opened the score in the 27th minute. Davide Frattesi defeated Spezia goalkeeper Bartlomiej Dragowski with a headed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Giorgos Kyriakopoulos.

Spezia equalized for the 1-1 in the 30th minute. Simone Bastoni defeated Sassuolo goalkeeper Andrea Consigli with a left footed shot to the top left corner.

Spezia taking the lead for the 2-1 before ending the first half in the 45+3′ minute. M’Bala Nzola converted a penalty with a left footed shot to the center. The penalty is conceded by Gian Marco Ferrari.

Sassuolo equalized for the 2-2 in the 49th minute. The equalizer goal scored by Andrea Pinamonti with a left footed shot to the center. The assist is by Jeremy Toljan. Pinamonti has become the first player born since 1999 to have scored at least one Serie A goal for five different teams (Frosinone, Genoa, Inter, Empoli and Sassuolo)

✅  Stats before the game: Spezia and Sassuolo have met six times between Serie A and Serie B, all from 2010 onwards: the balance is favorable to the neroverdi with four wins against just one Ligurian success (1N). The match against Sassuolo was the first match in La Spezia’s history in Serie A (the neroverdi win 4-1 away from home on 27 September 2020, at the Manuzzi stadium in Cesena in that case).   In the four previous Serie A games between Spezia and Sassuolo both teams have always found the way to scoring. Among the teams currently in the top flight, Spezia has scored in all their games also against Sampdoria, Lazio and Salernitana.
