Lecce claimed their first point this season after ending the Serie A Week 3 game  with a draw against Empoli on Sunday 28 August 2022 at the Via del Mare Stadium in Lecce, Italy.  Empoli scoring their first goal this season and the hero is Fabiano Parisi. Lecce leaving the relegation zone climbing from the 18th to the 15th position. Empoli down from the 13th to the 14th position.

Empoli opened the score in the 22nd minute. Fabiano Parisi defeated Lecce goalkeeper Wladimiro Falcone with a left footed shot to the center deviated by Baschirotto. This is Parisi’s first goal in Serie A.

Lecce equalized for the 1-1 in the 40th minute. Gabriel Strefezza defeated Empoli goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario with a right footed shot to the top right corner. The assist is by Lameck Banda.

✅     Stats before the game:  Empoli have won three of their six Serie A matches against Lecce (2D, 1L), including the last two in the last season with both teams in the top flight (2005/06).  Lecce have lost only one of the 10 home matches against Empoli between Serie A and Serie B (6V, 3N), but on their last occasion in the top flight, on February 8, 2006 (1-2, goals by Ledesma for the Giallorossi; Almirón and Tavano for the Tuscans).  Lecce lost their first home game of this league, against Inter; the Giallorossi have not lost two home games in a row in the league since May 2021, when in Serie B they suffered two defeats against SPAL and Cittadella.
