Fiorentina, 9th position with 40 points and a positive goal difference of +2

Fiorentina and Spezia failed to win the Serie A Week 29 game ending with a draw on Saturday 8 April 2023 at the Artemio Franchi Stadium in Florence, Italy. After having almost mortgaged access to the Italian Cup final thanks to the 2-0 away win against Cremonese, Fiorentina rejects the championship in pursuit of the tenth consecutive victory in all competitions, which happened for the last time in 1958. Al Franchi however, there is a need to overcome Spezia who comes to Florence on the strength of the six points won in the last five of the championship, a loot that has allowed the Ligurians to reach +6 over Verona third from bottom and minimize the risk of relegation.

Spezia scoring an own goal in the 25th minute gave the lead to Fiorentina.

Fiorentina equalized for the 1-1 in the 32nd minute. MBala Nzola defeated Fiorentina goalkeeper Pietro Terracciano with a left-footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Bartlomiej Dragowski.

✅  Stats before the game: Fiorentina are unbeaten against Spezia in Serie A, thanks to a draw in October 2020 followed by four wins – Viola have always scored at least two goals in every encounter with the Ligurians in the competition.  Both Serie A matches between Fiorentina and Spezia at the Franchi ended with the score 3-0 for Viola: in the first case with three different scorers (Vlahovic, Castrovilli and Eysseric), while in the second occasion with a hat-trick from Dusan Vlahovic . Fiorentina come off five wins and have not recorded six in a row in Serie A since April 2018 – and Viola could go four in a row without conceding for the first time in their history in the competition. Spezia, with its 25 points in 28 matches played, is experiencing its worst season in Serie A: in the two previous editions, after the same number of matches played, the Ligurians obtained 29 (in 2020/21) and 26 points (in 2021/22).

Lineup Fiorentina (4-3-3): P. Terracciano; Dodo, Martinez Quarta, Igor, Biraghi; Bonaventura, Mandragora, Castrovilli; Ikoné, Cabral, Sottil.

Lineup Spezia (4-3-3): Dragowski; Amian, Ampadu, Wisniewski, Nikolaou; Ekdal, Bourabia, Zurkowski; Gyasi, Nzola, Maldini.
