Juventus with a sprint race to be among the top 5 positions.  Juventus win the Serie A Week 16 game defeating Genoa on Sunday 5 December 2021 at the Allianz Stadium in Turin, Italy.   Juventus claiming all 3 points climb to the 5th position with 27 points.  Genoa needed to win the game to leave the relegation zone.  Yet, they failed. Genoa come from three consecutive away draws in Serie A: Grifone have not drawn four consecutive away games in a single season in the competition since the beginning of 1994 (five on that occasion).

Coach Massimiliano Allegri’s 150th win in Serie A with Juventus and 250th overall in the competition – the Juventus coach would become the second to reach 250 victories in the competition in the three-point-a-win era, after Carlo. Ancelotti (275).

Juventus opening the score in the 9th minute. It is Juan Cuadrado to defeat Genoa goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu with a right footed shot following a corner conceded by Paolo Ghiglione.

Juventus increasing the score for the 2-0 in the 82nd minute. Argentine forward Paulo Dybala with a left footed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Federico Bernardeschi.

Stats before the game.  Juventus have won their last three matches against Genoa in Serie A 3-1: only twice in its history in the competition the Vecchia Signora has recorded the same score four times in a row against a single opponent (four 0-0 v Atalanta in the 60s and four 1-1 v Rome in the 50s).  Genoa have won four games against Juventus in Serie A in the 35 games played from 1992 onwards (8D, 23F) – the same number of victories the Bianconeri have achieved in the last two seasons, prevailing in all their last four matches.
In 54 Serie A matches between Juventus and Genoa at the Bianconeri, the Ligurians have won only on two occasions, the most recent in January 1991 (1-0 by Tomas Skuhravy) – since then 14 Piedmontese wins and four draws. Juventus have kept a clean sheet in 3 of their last 4 Serie A matches (only one goal conceded, against Atalanta), as many clean sheets as in the previous 27 matches in the competition.  Juventus have scored only 7 goals in 7 home games played in this league, better only than Salernitana (five) so far and the worst tally in the first seven home games for the Bianconeri in a season in the top flight since 1988/89 (seven even on that occasion).

👉 Lineup Juventus (4-4-2): Szczesny; Cuadrado, de Ligt, Chiellini, Lu. Pellegrini; Bernardeschi, Bentancur, Locatelli, Kulusevski; Dybala, Morata.

👉 Lineup Genoa (3-5-2): Sirigu; Biraschi, Vasquez, Bani; Ghiglione, Behrami, Tourè, Hernani, Cambiaso; Bianchi, Ekuban.
