Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:

Inter won in grand style the Serie A Week 15 game against Udinese on Saturday 9 December 2023 at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium in Milan, Italy.  Inter took back the first position being +2 points above Juventus with 36 points. Good news continues for Inter because Argentinean forward Lautaro Martínez remains the top scorer with 14 goals.  Inter and Udinese have faced each other 100 times in the league. In previous matches Inter won 51 times, Udinese won 22 times while there were 27 draws.

Inter opened the score in the 37th minute. Hakan Çalhanoglu converted a penalty with a right-footed shot to the bottom left corner. The penalty was conceded by Nehuén Pérez after a foul on Lautaro Martínez

The brilliant sealer. Lautaro Martínez sealed the victory in the 84th minute with a right-footed shot to the bottom left corner.

Stats before the game. Inter have lost only one of their last 11 matches against Udinese in Serie A (W8, D2), a defeat that came in the first leg of last season’s match, 3-1 on 18 September 2022; more generally, the Nerazzurri have found 13 successes in the 17 most recent matches against the Friulians in the competition (2N, 2L). Udinese have found the net in each of their last three Serie A games against Inter (1W, 2D), after having failed to score seven times in the previous eight games against the Nerazzurri in the league.
Inter have won their last five home games against Udinese in Serie A and have never recorded more home successes in the competition against this opponent (five also between 1984 and 1989).  With 12 points in their first 14 league games, this is Udinese’s worst start to a Serie A season in the three-points-for-a-win era; the Friulians have always collected at least 13 points after the first 15 matches played in the competition since 1994/95. Inter have obtained 35 points in this Serie A: they could reach 38 points after the first 15 matches in a single top-flight championship for the fourth time in the competition (considering three points for a win always), after 2006/07 (39 ), 2017/18 (39) and 2019/20 (38).
