Atalanta won the Serie A Week 15 game on Saturday 9 December 2023 at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo, Italy. This is a prestigious victory for Atalanta to help them to climb to the European zone.   The big flop is for AC Milan on their quest to keep up the race for the Scudetto. Atalanta reached 23 points, bringing them closer to the Champions League zone. However, Milan remained stuck at 29 points and sees the top of the table move away, perhaps almost definitively. The hero is Luis Muriel who scored the winner goal in the 94th minute.

Atalanta opened the score in the 38th minute. Ademola Lookman defeated AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan with a right-footed shot to the center. The assist is by Teun Koopmeiners.

AC Milan equalized in the 45+2 minute just before ending the first half. It is French forward Olivier Giroud to defeat Atalanta goalkeeper with a headed shot to the high center. The assist is by Alessandro Florenzi with a cross following a corner conceded by Giorgio Scalvini.

Atalanta took the lead again in the 55th minute. It is again Ademola Lookman to score with a right-footed shot to the high center. The assist is by Charles De Ketelaere.

AC Milan equalized again in the 80th minute. Luka Jovic scored with a left-footed shot to the center. The assist is by Christian Pulisic.

Atalanta got the victory in the very final minute of the game. In the 94th minute, Colombian forward Luis Muriel scored in the 94th minute with a right-footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Aleksey Miranchuk.


✅  Stats before the game: Milan have remained unbeaten in their last five Serie A matches against Atalanta (W4, D1): the Rossoneri have not reached six games in a row without losing to the Bergamo side since the period between 2008 and 2012 (six matches in that case). Atalanta have lost 14 Serie A matches in 2023 (17W, 6D) and have not done worse in a single calendar year since 2015 (15); furthermore, after the defeats against Napoli and Turin, the Bergamo team could record three consecutive defeats in the league for the first time since November 2022.
