Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:

Lecce, 14th position with 14 points and a negative goal difference of -3
Hellas Verona crying out loud for salvation. Verona and Lecced ended the Serie A Week 13 on Monday 27 November 2023 at the Marc’Antonio Bentegodi Stadium in Verona, Itay. Hellas is going through a dark period, with six defeats in a row between the championship and the Italian Cup. So far the Veronese team has won only once, on 26 August against Roma.
Lecce also hasn’t found a victory in a long series of matches, more precisely since 22 September with the 1-0 inflicted on Genoa. Since then 4 defeats and 3 draws. Last day, however, D’Aversa’s team overcame Pioli’s Milan from a two-goal deficit, even risking winning the match in the final.
Verona which therefore rises to 9 points, remaining behind Empoli and Cagliari, but separating Salernitana, now alone in last place. Lecce leads Sassuolo on 15 points and keeps its distance from the relegation zone.
The game played at a good pace, with both teams giving their all to bring home at least one point, which is important from a safety perspective. The opening goal came in the 30th minute when Oudin converted from long range with a very powerful right-footed shot. The equalizer comes after an error by Dorgu who mistakenly serves Djuric, who provides an assist for Ngonge who passes Falcone. In the second half Lecce took the lead again with Gonzalez who, in the 69th minute, struck from outside the area and thanks to a deflection put it into the net. In the 77th minute Verona equalized again with Djuric who headed, his specialty, following an assist from Terracciano.
Leece opened the score in the 30th minute. Remi Oudin defeated Hellas Verona goalkeeper
Lorenzo Montipò with a right-footed shot to the top right corner.

✅ Stats before the game: erona have won their last four Serie A matches against Lecce without conceding a goal; only two teams boast a longer open streak of consecutive victories with clean sheets against a single opponent in Serie A: Napoli (five vs Sampdoria) and Juventus (nine vs Piacenza). Lecce have never won in eight away matches against Verona in Serie A: three draws and five defeats, including all the last three; the yellow-blue team is in fact the team faced several times by the Salento players away from home in the top tournament without ever winning. Verona has remained unbeaten in the last seven matches against Lecce in Serie A (5W, 2D): against any team the Scaligeri boast a longer open streak of consecutive games without defeat in the top division (seven also against Cagliari). Lecce has 14 points in the standings (3W, 5D, 4P) – only twice have the Salento players collected at least 17 after the first 13 Serie A matches of the season in the three-points-for-a-win era (since 1994/95): in 1999/2000 and 2004/05. Verona have not won in 10 championship matches (2N 8P, the Venetians’ most recent success dates back to the second day, against Roma), only Salernitana currently has a longer open streak of consecutive matches without a win (13) among the teams currently in Serie A. Furthermore, the Gialloblù are coming off five defeats in a row in the competition, only Union Berlin has a longer open streak of consecutive knockouts (nine) in the five major European championships 2023/24.
