Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Spezia, 16th position with 9 points and a negative goal difference of -12
AC Milan, 3rd position with 26 points and a positive goal difference of +12
AC Milan survived the pressure by winning the Serie A Week 13 game against Spezia on Saturday 5 November 2022 at the San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy. AC Milan are back in second place in the standings with 29 points, while Spezia remains at 9 points. Undoubtedly, it was not an easy game, but a very intense game that lights up in the last half hour of the game. In the first half, Milan passed with Theo Hernandez. In the second half, the ex-Milan Daniele Maldini equalized with a stupendous goal. The Rossoneri try to regain the advantage and even find with Sandro Tonali’s goal which is canceled after a check at VAR. At the end, Olivier Giroud finds the winning goal in a half overhead, but gets sent off for a double yellow card after removing his shirt while celebrating. Ironically, Daniel Maldini scored in San Siro 5333 days after his father, Paolo Maldini, back in March, 30, 2008 in Serie A.
In the next round, AC Milan playing the away game against Cremonese, while Spezia will host Udinese.
AC Milan opened the score in the 21st minute. French forward Theo Hernández defeated Spezia goalkeeper with a left-footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Ismaël Bennacer.

The winner goal was scored in the 89th minute. Forward Olivier Giroud with a left-footed shot to the top right corner. The assist is by Sandro Tonali. A sweet and sour celebration because Giroud got a red card for removing his shirt during the celebration. It was a superb goal.

✅ Stats before the game. Spezia have won two of the four Serie A matches against Milan (2P), which could become the second team against which the Ligurians find three victories in the competition, after Sampdoria. Spezia were the protagonists of one of Milan’s two home defeats in Serie A in 2022: 1-2 last February, followed only by 1-2 against Napoli on 18 September. Since the beginning of 2022, Milan have held nine clean sheets at home in Serie A, a record in the calendar year like Fiorentina: only Liverpool and Real Sociedad (10 each) have more home clean sheets in the top five European leagues in the period. Spezia have lost without scoring all the first six away games of this championship: only four teams in the history of the competition have come to seven straight away defeats without finding the net (Naples in 1939, Bari in 1950, Catania in 1955 and in 1984 and Livorno in 2014).
👉 Lineup AC MILAN (4-2-3-1): Tătăruşanu; Kalulu, Gabbia, Tomori, Hernández; Bennacer, Krunić; Messias, Díaz, Leão; Origi.
👉 Lineup SPEZIA (3-5-2): Drągowski; Ampadu, Caldara, Kiwior; Holm, Bourabia, Ekdal, Agudelo, Amian; Maldini, Nzola.
