Fiorentina, 14th position with 10 points and a negative goal difference of -5

Fiorentina win the Serie A Week 12 game at the Alberto Picco Stadium in Spezia, Italy on Sunday 30 October 2022. The victory relaunches Fiorentina which reaches 13 points and had not won in the league since mid-September. A sour note is for Spezia remaining with 9 points risking to go down to the relegation zone. In the next round Milan-Spezia and Sampdoria-Fiorentina.

Fiorentina manages to take home the victory after a match fought until the last moment. Milenkovic leads the Viola while Nzola equalized for the 1-1. In the second half, chances on both sides, including a post hit by Jovic, but the turning point comes with the red for Nikolau. Spezia remains in 10 and in the 90th minute Cabral scores the three-point goal.

Fiorentina opened the score in the 14th minute. Nikola Milenković defeated Spezia goalkeeper Bartlomiej Dragowskifrom very close range with a headed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Cristiano Biraghi with a cross following a corner conceded by Arkadiusz Reca.

Spezia equalized in the 35th minute. MBala Nzola scored from very close range with a left-footed shot to the center. The assist is by Albin Ekdal.

Fiorentina scored the winner goal in the 90th minute with a goal by Arthur Cabral.

✅  Stats before the game: In the four previous Serie A games between Spezia and Fiorentina there are three purple victories: the balance is completed in the first absolute match between the two teams in the maximum tournament, 2-2 on 18 October 2020. Fiorentina scored exactly two goals in both away games played against Spezia in Serie A: 2-2 at Manuzzi in the first away match, 2-1 victory in the last match at Picco on February 14, 2022 (goals from Piatek, Agudelo and Amrabat).  Spezia is – like Bochum – one of the two teams of the major five European championships 2022/23 that has collected all the points of the season at home: the Ligurian one, in particular, is one of the three teams of this Serie A still unbeaten in home together with Juventus and Napoli (two wins and three draws for the Eaglets). This is only the ninth time in its history that Fiorentina have won two or fewer matches in the first 11 matches of a Serie A championship: the last in 2020/21, when they collected nine points in the first 11 and closed the season at 13. Th final place.

👉 Lineup SPEZIA (3-5-2): Dragowski – Ampadu, Kiwior, Nikolaou – Holm, Ekdal, Bourabia, Agudelo, Reca – Gyasi, Nzola.
👉 Lineup FIORENTINA (4-3-3): Terracciano – Dodò, Milenkovic, Martinez Quarta, Biraghi – Bonaventura, Amrabat, Mandragora – Ikonè, Jovic, Kouame.
