Referee Marco Di Bello gave a penalty to Roma conceded by Alex Ferrari after a handball inside the penalty area. Captain Lorenzo Pellegrini converted the penalty defeating Sampdoria goalkeeper Emil Audero with a right-footed shot to the top left corner.
