A big day for Bologna  winning  the Serie A Week 1 game against Salernitana on Sunday 22 August 2021 at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium in Bologna, Italy.  Newly promoted Salernitana enjoying this gala debut despite losing the game.  Salernitana took the early lead and showed a good game putting a strong front not making easier for Bologna.  At the end, Bologna overturned the result claiming the victory with a good debut.

  • Bologna have won just one of their last 11 Serie A season openers having 1 win, 4 draws, and losing 6.  Salernitana finished in the second position in Serie B last season promoted to the Serie A for the first time in 23 years and just the third time ever.  Salernitana ended their last Serie A campaing -20 years ago –  with 4 wins, 3 draws, and 1 lost.  One of those wins was precisely against Juventus.   Salernitana’s Joel Obi scored his last Serie A goal in November 2018 against Bologna, while playing for Chievo Verona.
