Following the outbreak of war in Ukraine, both the league itself and the twenty Serie A clubs within it have acted to help the Ukrainian people. Starting from the Serie A Week 31 of the Serie A 2021/2022, all the captains will be wearing the armband with the words “Peace”. The children are also back on the field, thanks to the new protocols of the FIGC

AC Milan keeping up the race for the Scudetto defeated Fiorentina at the San Siro Stadium. The victory secures AC Milan in the first position while Fiorentina slowed down their race for a spot in Europa League next season. Third consecutive defeat for Fiorentina. Goalkeeper Mike Maignan saves Milan on a header from Cabral just before the gift from goalkeeper Terracciano who decides the game. Terracciano sends back directly on Rafael Leão’s feet, the Portuguese not wasting the chance enters the area and scores with his right foot on the near post to continue the dream for the Scudetto. In the next round, Milan will play against Hellas Verona at the Marc’Antonio Bentegodi Stadium while Fiorentina will host AS Roma at the Artemio Franchi Stadium.
Inter keeping up the race for the Scudetto after defeating Udinese at the Dacia Arena. The victory finds Inter in a neck-to-neck race alongside AC Milan. In the standings, Inter keep pace with Milan with 77 points, climbing to 75 points with -2 points. Udinese remain with 43. Inter redeems itself after the knockout in Bologna after an 11-game unbeaten run by bending Udinese thanks to goals from Perisic and Lautaro Martinez (error from the spot) in the first portion of the game; Pussetto’s goal in the second half was useless for the Friulians. Injuries for Success and Barella. In the next round, Inter-Empoli and Sassuolo-Udinese.
Napoli with a mega victory crushing Sassuolo at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium. Napoli reached 70 points remaining in the 3rd position within the Champions League zone for next season. This victory finds Napoli winning 9 of their 18 Serie A matches against Sassuolo (D7 L2). Napoli transformed into a convincing Terminator and humiliated Sassuolo with a 6-1. Koulibaly opened the score with a headed shot, Victor Osimhen doubles always with the head, Hirving Lozano “El Chucky,” a brace by Dries Mertens and Amir Rrahmani sealed the win in the 80th minute. The honor goal for Sassuolo scored by Maxime López in the 87th minute. In the next round, Napoli will face Torino at the Olimpico and Sassuolo will play at home against Udinese.
Sampdoria win the 78th Derby della Lanterna. Sampdoria defeated Genoa and claimed the bragging rights to rule at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium. It’s a party for Sampdoria that conquers salvation and Genoa in great difficulty still in the relegation zone. Genoa had a very good opportunity to equalize. yet, it failed. Forward Domenico Criscito failed to convert a penalty in the 96th minute saved by goalkeeper Emil Audero.
Cagliari lost against Hellas Verona at the Unipol Domus. Cagliari remains at 28 with three points ahead of Salernitana and Genoa but the Campania players have two fewer games, Genoa one. Verona at 52, four points from Europe, awaiting the matches of Lazio, Fiorentina and Atalanta. Verona won thanks to goals scored in the first half by Barak and Caprari. Joao Pedro rekindles the Rossoblu hopes by scoring from a free-kick in the 57th minute.
Empoli was defeated by Torino at the Carlo Castellani Stadium. Empoli surrender in nine, everything happens in the second half with many episodes evaluated by the VAR: Szymon Zurkowski signs the advantage then Verre gets expelled for a bad intervention, Andrea Belotti enters from the bench and decides the match with a hat-trick (two of which on penalties granted by Referee Cosso for handballs by Stojanovic, who was also sent off).
AS Roma ended the game against Bologna with a goalless draw at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium. Roma, after the draw in Naples and the defeat against Inter, slows down again and remains fifth, but hooked by Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio, with the race for the next Europa League starting to get complicated. Bologna, on the other hand, after the draws against Milan and Juventus and the victory against Inter, obtained yet another prestigious result. Roma will prepare for the UEFA Europa Conference League Semifinal Second Leg on Thursday 5 May against Leicester City at the Olimpico. In the next round of the championship, Roma will visit Fiorentina at the Artemio Franchi Stadium, while Bologna will face Venezia at the Pier Luigi Penzo Stadium.
Atalanta and Salernitana ended with a draw at the Gewiss Stadium. Atalanta are winless at home in their last four Serie A games (D2 L2): they last went five in a row in the competition in March 2016 (seven, under Reja). Salernitana takes away a very precious point for the battle for salvation, even if they had cherished the victory on the field of Atalanta until the last moment. Atalanta, on the other hand, after being hit by Ederson’s paw in the first half, constantly hit Salernitana wall, finding the equalizer goal in the final thanks to the usual Pasalic.
