Hakan Şükür is already retired and living in the United States. Şükür was born on 1 September 1971 (age 48) in Sapanca, Turkey. Şükür is of Albanian origin, his parents are immigrants from Yugoslavia, his father being born in Pristina, and his mother in Skopje. Şükür played for Sakaryaspor, for whom he made his debut in the Turkish topflight still just a youngster before winning the Turkish Cup in ’88 with them. Şükür then moved to Bursaspor in the early ‘90s, then from 1992 to 1995 he played for Galatasaray.

Torino signed Hakan Şükür in ’95 bringing him to Serie A, becoming the second Turkish player to ever play in the Serie A. However, his experience with Torino was short lived: on 10 September 1995 he scored his first Italian goal against Bari, but halfway through the season he returned to Turkey for his second stint at Galatasaray until he returned to Italy in 2000.

Inter were the team to bring him back to Serie A and Şükür played 24 games scoring five goals for them. The following year, Hakan Şükür moved to Parma. He scored his first  goal with Parma in the 2-1 derby win against Bologna, then scored again in the following away match as they beat Brescia 4-1. He also scored in the game against Udinese at the Stadio Tardini. Therefore his experience ended with three goals to his name, and at the end of the season, a Coppa Italia trophy.
