Portugal and Iran battling to win the FIFA World Cup First Stage Group B game on Monday 25 June, 2018 at the Mordovia Arena in Saransk, Russia.    The last game played between Portugal and Iran ended with a victory for Portugal 2-0 in the World Cup 2006. Portugal finished in the 2nd position of Group B and secured their pass to the Round of 16 (knockout-stage) and will play against Uruguay.

Portugal opening the score in the 45th minute before ending the first half. It is midfielder Ricardo Quaresma to defeat Iran goalkeeper with a powerful right footed shot in the top left corner.  The assist is by Adrien Silva.

Portugal had the chance to score the second goal when Referee granted a penalty to Portugal conceded by Saeid Ezatolahi. In the 53rd minute, sadly, Cristiano Ronaldo failed to convert the penalty because it was saved by Iran goalkeeper in the bottom right corner.

Iran equalizing for the 1-1 i the 93rd minute. It is Karim Ansarifard to convert a penalty defeating Portugal goalkeeper Rui Patricio with a right footed shot in the top right corner. The penalty is conceded by Cédric Soares.
