Rapid Wien faced a defeat against Fiorentina during the UEFA Conference League Matchday 2, League Phase, on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the Allianz Stadium in Vienna, Austria. Fiorentina achieved a convincing 3-0 win away from home against Rapid Vienna. This away victory surely serves as a morale booster for the team. With this win, Fiorentina has secured their second consecutive victory, bringing their points total to six and temporarily placing them at the top of the league table.

Conversely, Rapid Vienna has suffered their second loss in as many matches, leaving them with no points in the standings and a goal difference of -6, which puts them in second to last place.

Fiorentina took an early lead in the 9th minute when Cher Ndour scored with a left-footed shot from the center of the box into the bottom right corner. Ndour was quick to take advantage of a mistake by Rapid Wien's goalkeeper, Niklas Hedl.

As the first half drew to a close, the Austrians posed a threat with Kara's dangerous shot from a promising position that went wide, leaving Fiorentina's goalkeeper, David De Gea, stranded.

At the beginning of the second half, Pioli's squad extended their lead. In the 48th minute, Edin Dzeko found the net with a right-footed shot from the center of the box into the center of the goal, assisted by Niccolò Fortini's cross.

Midway through the second half, Seidl's long-range effort was deflected onto the crossbar by De Gea, who made an incredible save. With just two minutes left, substitute Kouadio set up.

Gudmundsson, another newcomer, scored in the 88th minute. Albert Gudmundsson netted with a left-footed shot from the center of the box into the bottom right corner, assisted by Eddy Kouadio.

In the upcoming round of the group stage, Rapid Vienna will host Universitate Craiova on November 6th, while Fiorentina will travel to Mainz on the same date.
