A night to remember for Inter as they triumphed over Slavia Prague with a 3-0 victory on Matchday 2 of the Champions League, held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium.  Inter secured a six-point lead, matching Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. This was undoubtedly a strong performance in the Champions League for Chivu's Inter, who, after their successful debut in Amsterdam against Ajax, dominated Slavia Prague.

Captain Lautaro Martínez scored twice (30' and 65'), along with a goal from Denzel Dumfries (34').

Lautaro Martínez achieved a significant milestone in his time with the Nerazzurri: the Argentine forward is the first player in Inter's history to score in seven different Champions League/European Cup campaigns. Keep it up, Lautaro!



 

After defeating Ajax away on Matchday 1 and Slavia Prague on Matchday 2, Cristian Chivu become the fourth Inter manager to win his first two UEFA Champions League matches, joining the ranks of Luciano Spalletti (2018/19), Claudio Ranieri (2011/12), and Roberto Mancini (2004/05).

Stats before the game

This will mark the third encounter between Inter and Slavia Prague in European competitions, following their previous two meetings during the 2019/20 UEFA Champions League group stage. Inter drew 1-1 at home and secured a 3-1 victory in the away leg.

Slavia Prague has never won an away match against an Italian team in a major European competition, suffering defeats in seven of their eight encounters (with one draw). The only time they managed to avoid a loss was against Inter in September 2019, ending in a 1-1 draw.

Inter has triumphed in their last four UEFA Champions League matches against Czech teams, boasting an aggregate score of 10-1 (all since the 2019/20 season) and maintaining a clean sheet in the last three matches.

Slavia Prague has faced three consecutive away losses in European competitions without scoring, all occurring in the group stage of the 2024/25 Europa League. The last time the Czech team experienced four straight away defeats in a major European competition was in October 2007, when they lost five in a row.

Player Statistics

One of Lautaro Martínez's two UEFA Champions League multiples for Inter occurred against Slavia Prague in November 2019 (the other being a hat-trick against Monaco in January 2025). The Argentine player opened the scoring in that match and later netted the third goal in the 3-1 victory at the Fortuna Arena.

Lukás Provod created six open-play chances for his teammates on Matchday 1 against Bodø/Glimt, setting a record for a Slavia Prague player in a UEFA Champions League match. Additionally, both goals in the 2-2 draw included an assist from Provod, making him the first player from the club to provide more than one assist in a single match in this competition.

Hakan Çalhanoglu assisted Marcus Thuram on both of Inter's goals in the 2-0 victory over Ajax, marking only the second instance of a player from the Nerazzurri providing two assists for a teammate in a UEFA Champions League match (the first was Romelu Lukaku for Lautaro Martínez against Slavia Prague in November 2019).

Alessandro Bastoni completed 19 line-breaking passes in Inter's win over Ajax on Matchday 1 of this Champions League, more than any other Nerazzurri player in a single match throughout the entire 2024/25 season, where they finished in second place.
