Cagliari triumphed over Frosinone in the Coppa Italia Frecciarossa Round 2 on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the Unipol Domus. They achieved a significant win in the second half, moving on to the round of 16 of the Coppa Italia. Next, they will head to face Napoli in a single match in December. After taking the lead just 90 seconds into the game, Cagliari faced challenges in the first half but managed to net four goals in the second half against Frosinone.

The match kicked off with a quick advantage. Can you believe it? In just the 2nd minute, the referee awarded a penalty to Cagliari. Gianluca Gaetano successfully converted the penalty with a right-footed shot into the bottom left corner. Frosinone leveled the score in the 36th minute. Edoardo Vergani found the net with a right-footed shot from just a few feet away, placing it into the bottom left corner. The assist came from Jacopo Gelli after a corner was given away by Zé Pedro.

Cagliari took the lead again in the 67th minute. Gennaro Borrelli found the net with a right-footed shot from the center of the box into the bottom right corner. He was assisted by Mattia Felici.



 

Cagliari is having a great time as they net another goal in the 80th minute. Mattia Felici found the back of the net with a right-footed shot from the left side of the box into the bottom right corner. This was set up by Riyad Idrissi during a quick counterattack.

Cagliari clinched the match with a fourth goal in the 85th minute. Nicolò Cavuoti scored with a left-footed shot from the center of the box into the bottom right corner, assisted by Sebastiano Esposito. The final whistle blows, and Frosinone faces a challenging loss.
