👉  Italy lost the UEFA Euro 2024 Qualifiers against England on Tuesday 17 October 2023 at the Wembley Stadium in London, England. The English achieved qualification by taking advantage of the defensive ingenuity of the Azzurri who dropped noticeably in the second half. England Captain Harry Kane with a brace and a goal from Marcus Rashford overturned Gianluca Scamacca’s momentary advantage. We might argue that Spalletti’s substitutions were not right. Moreover, legitimate protests for the failed expulsion of Phillips, who was pardoned by the referee Turpin.

Italy, overtaken by Ukraine, will return to the field in a month. The matches against North Macedonia and the direct clash with Ukraine will be decisive.

Italy opened the score in the 15th minute. Gianluca Scamacca defeated England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford from very close range with a right-footed shot to the high center. The assist is by Giovanni Di Lorenzo.

Referee Clement Turpin gave a penalty to England conceded by Giovanni Di Lorenzo following a foul on Jude Bellingham. In the 31st minute, Harry Kane converted the penalty defeating Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma with a right footed shot to the top right corner.

In the 57th minute, not a good sign. England took the lead with the goal by Marcus Rashford with a right footed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Jude Bellingham.
