Claudio Marchisio has left the Italy squad. The player has an injury to a joint in his left leg and so the manager Gian Piero Ventura has decided to rest him as a precautionary measure. In the late morning, the player will return home and make himself available to his club side.
At the same time, Roberto Gagliardini from Atalanta and Armanda Izzo of Genoa have been called up and they will arrive at the training facility in Coverciano during the day. It’s the first senior call-up for both players although Izzo did take place in the preparation camp for the finals of Euro 2016 in France.
