THE NEW FORMAT OF THE NATIONS LEAGUE
This edition introduces a new format. Instead of just the top-ranked team qualifying directly for the Final Four. The top two teams from each group will now move on to the knockout stage. In March 2025, the quarterfinals will take place with home and away matches. The winners will then advance to the Finals, scheduled for June 2025 at the location of one of the four finalists. The team that finishes fourth in the group will be relegated to League B, and in a fresh twist, the third-placed team will have to compete in a play-off to avoid relegation against one of the second-placed teams from League B. Additionally, the finalists will secure a spot in the play-offs for the 2026 World Cup.
