Italy and Turkey ended the international friendly game with a goalless draw on Tuesday 4 June 2024 at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium in Bologna, Italy. A game that as a whole offered few chances to score. The end of the first half, Bryan Cristante hit the post who, on the developments of a corner kick taken by Lorenzo Pellegrini, hit the woodwork on the right with a header.

Italy faced Vincenzo Montella’s Turkey. Among Turkey’s squad there were also some Serie A players: Celik (Roma), Calhanoglu (Inter) and Yildiz (Juventus). Also worth mentioning is the presence of the young talent Arda Guler, new European champion with Real Madrid.

Italy will face Bosnia and Herzegovina this Sunday in a final friendly before reaching the European Championship, where Albania will make their debut.

✅  Stats before the game: Turkey are the national team Italy have faced the most times in their history without ever having recorded a defeat: in 12 matches, nine Azzurri wins and three draws. Italy have scored in 11 of their 12 matches against Turkey (24 goals for the Azzurri, an average of 2.0 per match), the only game in which they have failed to score against this opponent dates back to 13 January 1973 (0-0 in World Cup qualifying). Italy are unbeaten in eight of their last nine games (W6 D2), their only defeat in that period coming against England on 17 October (1-3). Italy have won nine of their last 10 friendlies, including the two against Luciano Spalletti (vs Venezuela and Ecuador last March), losing only to Austria on 20 November 2022. Italy return to play in Bologna for the first time since 4 June 2022: 1-1 against Germany in the Nations League.
