There was a special day in Coverciano today as representatives from the FIGC’s commercial partners met with players from the National Team and spent time with Gian Piero Ventura, captain Gigi Buffon and other players as they prepare for the Uruguay and Liechtenstein matches.
After the group picture with the team and lunch with the Azzurri, FIGC CEO Michele Uva spoke about the organisation’s objectives regarding merchandise, the Football Museum, modernisation of Coverciano and women’s football. “We want to retain the 60s’ flavour of the technical centre with a touch of modernity,” said Uva. “We’re investing around 5 million Euros to redo all of the pitches, the stands and the dressing rooms.”
In the afternoon, representatives of the commercial partners attended training and saw the side off with them set to move on to Nice where they play Uruguay on Wednesday.
