Manchester City taught Palermo a lesson by defeating them 3-0 on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the Renzo Barbera Stadium. This match was part of the Anglo-Palermitan Trophy. It was certainly a convincing victory over the Serie B team, Palermo. Goals from Erling Haaland and a brace from Tijjani Reijnders secured the win. This was their last friendly of the pre-season.
Although Palermo started brightly, City took control of the game. In the 25th minute, Erling Haaland opened the scoring with a right-footed shot from the center of the box into the bottom left corner, assisted by Rico Lewis.
