There are 3 Italian Serie A players in the Mexico vs Chile game for the Copa America Centenario Quarterfinals on Saturday 18 June 2016 at the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, CA, USA. No Serie A players in Mexico team (there is only the ex-Hellas Verona defender Rafael Marquez).   Chile defeating Mexico and qualifying for the Copa America Centenario Semifinal against Colombia on Wednesday 22 June at the Soldier Field Stadium in Chicago.

 

Italian Serie A players called up for Chile:

  • Inter Milan defender Gary Medel
  • Bologna midfielder Erick Pulgar
  • Atalanta forward Mauricio Pinilla

 

Chile opening the score in the 16th minute with Edson Puch defeating Mexico goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa with a right footed shot in the bottom left corner.  The action originated  by Marcelo Diaz when delivering a right footed shot, saved by goalkeeper Ochoa, but the ball remain in the area and there is when Puch not hesitating to smack a right footed shot to delight Chile fans.

Chile increasing the score in the 44th minute.  It is Eduardo Vargas to defeat goalkeeper Ochoa with a left footed shot in the bottom right corner.   The assist is by Alexis Sánchez.

Chile battling and increasing the sore.   The third goal of the match in the 49th minute with the ex Serie A player  Alexis Sánchez delivering a  right footed shot in the center.   The assist is by King  Arturo Vidal.

A poker for Chile!   It seems Chile is just rocking and crushing Mexico.  The fourth goal of the match in the 52nd minute with Eduardo Vargas defeating goalkeeper Ochoa with a right footed shot in the box to the bottom right corner.   The assist is by Alexis Sánchez.  Mexico 0 – 4 Chile.

What a game for Vargas!   There it is another goal!   You bet Mexico goalkeeper must be having a headache.  Eduardo Vargas defeating Ochoa with a left footed shot in the top left corner.  Mexico 0 – 5 Chile.

The motivation high for Vargas scoring his fourth goal of the match against Mexico.  In the 74th minute, there he comes again.  Vargas defeating Ochoa with a  right footed shot in the top right corner. Mexico 0 – 6 Chile

Total crush, a rollercoaster over Mexico.  Chile just rocking!   In the 87th minute, the seven goal of the match to put an “END” to this agonizing match.  It is Edson Puch smacking another  right footed shot defeating goalkeeper Ochoa.   The assist is by Arturo Vidal.  Mexico 0 – 7 Chile.
