MILAN – The Milan youth sector team, the Esordienti 2004, have won the Universal Cup following a convincing 4-0 win in the final over Inter. The goals for the rossoneri youngsters came from Boni, Camara and Foglio (2).
Milan thoroughly deserved to win the tournament in what has been a big footballing and life experience, a group that has been strengthened after Sunday’s alleged racist incident and now nothing but satisfaction for their success out on the pitch.
The players coached by Frigerio reached the final after a 4-0 win over PSG in the quarter finals and a 5-3 win on penalties against Benfica in the semi-finals. The rossoneri managed to make it an Easter weekend to remember by triumphing in the final over Inter. By winning, the rossoneri made it back to back triumphs at the Universal Cup having also lifted the trophy last season with a win over Chelsea in the final.
Congratulations to the Esordienti 2004 and also to the Giovanissimi Nazionali. The youth sector team coached by Danesi won the Memorial Gallini tournament in Pordenone. The rossoneri ran out 2-0 winners in the final against Bravo Lubjana. Finessi opened the scoring in the first half before Milan wrapped up the win in the second half thanks to an own goal.
