This was what FIGC President Carlo Tavecchio said on the 30th anniversary of the Heysel tragedy. The Federal Council meeting on Tuesday began with a minute of silence to remember those who died on 29th May 1985. FIGC CEO Michele Uva announced that he is working to organise a friendly between Italy and Belgium in November to commemorate the 39 victims.
“Football should always be a reason joyful event but it attracts troublemakers. It’s the reason why the institutions, clubs and true fans must oppose every kind of violence and intolerance,” concluded Tavecchio.
