Palermo Club has sacked coach Diego Lopez on Tuesday 11 April 2017. Palermo are under heavy pressure fighting for salvation to remain in the Serie A next season. It is Youth Team Coach Diego Bortoluzzi to take his place. Making matters worst, Palermo sporting director Nicola Salerno has resigned.
Fact is that Palermo sacked the fourth coach this season, the victim now is Diego Lopez. Stats were negative for Lopez who in the 10 games under his term got 7 defeats, 2 draws, and only 1 win. The situation is crucial after Palermo lost on Sunday 9 April the Serie A Week 31 game: AC Milan 4 – 0 Palermo. Palermo with 15 points , eight adrift of safety with only seven games to play.
Here is the situation. Up to Week 31, Palermo are in the 19th position down in the relegation zone. Palermo having only +1 point above Pescara who are in the 20th position with 14 points.
